Today, Brendan and I are celebrating our 3rd anniversary!

We'll probably celebrate a little more this weekend but tonight we are going to spend the evening at home with our little man.
In 3 years we have moved 3 times, had a baby and have one on the way, had our ups and our downs, and I couldn't ask for anything more!

I have the best husband a girl could want!

Happy Anniversary, Brendan!

Jackson's Big Secret

So...not what we were planning or expecting but then again, our life never tends to work out that way anyway! We found out a few weeks ago that Jackson is going to be a BIG BROTHER! We were trying in June and then when we found out in July that we were moving we decided we would wait a while...but God had different plans for us. We just can't ever do one thing at a time...moving, buying a new house, trying to find Brendan a job, me starting at a new office with Progressive, trying to find Jackson a new daycare, and now we preggers!

We are truly excited though! Not near as scared and worried as we were the first go around when we were pretty much in this same spot in life. I go to the doctor on Tuesday but my guess is that I'm right around the 8 week mark. I am nauseated at almost every smell...peeing all the time...and can't seem to get my head on straight! I flew out to Tampa this past Monday for a class for my new job -- a class that lasted until Friday. I however, booked my flight to leave on Monday and return on Tuesday...yeah, so when I got to the airport on Friday I had already missed my flight -- by 3 days! I am LOSING IT already! So $200 later I made it home last night..haha! Good thing my boss likes me and just laughed it off..

So yeah, there's our news...I've been holding it back for about 3 weeks or more and am so excited to have it OUT THERE! I'll keep you posted after we see Dr. Hurst next Tuesday...if I show up on the right day..haha!

I can't even believe it, but after 2 days on the market, we received an offer on our house and are IN CONTRACT - set to close September 18th if all goes well.
We listed the house Monday afternoon and the 2nd people that looked at the house put an offer in on Wednesday night. We had everything finalized on Thursday.
This is all a little overwheliming to be honest!
While it's awesome to have one big worry off our plate, it's a little daunting to have such a short time limit on finding Brendan a job, us a house to live in, and Jackson a daycare in the DFW area.
I know we'll get it done..we always do. In fact, we honestly don't know how to do anything without having 3 or 4 other stressful things to handle along with it!
Reminder:
We got married October 21, 2006.
Went to Mexico on a week-long honeymoon that next monday. Got back Friday.
Moved to Wichita Falls that very Saturday.
Brendan didn't have a job then.
We got pregnant November 2006.
Bought a house April 2007.
Had Jackson July 31, 2007.

So we should be used to this crazyness, right? Haha!

At least this time, there's no pregnancy involved! We were gonna try but with all of this madness, we've decided to hold off a little while. I can only handle so much!

But I wanted to update you guys on the house. The termite inspection is set for today and the home inspection for tomorrow at 1pm. I'm not too concerned since we just bought the house 2 years ago and had it inspected then. Surely nothing major has changed, right?! We'll see.

This weekend we are going up to McKinney to look at some houses while Jackson spends some time with his Nana and Pappa Jim. I didn't figure he would be condusive to a pleasant house-hunting experience! I'm excited to see what's out there but not planning to buy a house without Brendan having a job first so we'll see..I'll keep ya posted!

We're on the market!

Today our first house went up for sale. I have some mixed emotions about this event. This is the home Brendan and I bought when we were 5 months pregnant and planning for the arrival of our baby boy. This is the house we brought Jackson home to from the hospital, the house where we have celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, Jackson's first Christmas..the list goes on and on.

Now don't get me wrong..I knew we wouldn't live here forever. I can't wait to find a larger, newer, nicer home in the McKinney area. It's just a little sad to be closing this chapter and starting a new one.

Brendan has been working so hard on updating both bathrooms and I've spent the last 3 weeks cleaning and packing and re-cleaning and staging, and re-re-cleaning. And last night, our realtor came over and took the photos for the MLS website. We signed all the paperwork. It's a done deal (well, not really..still need to sell the place). So, in honor of our "First Place" I'm gonna post some of the pics our realtor sent..

Jackson turned 2!

Jackson turned TWO on Friday, July 31st! I can't believe my little guy is growing up so quick! He talks non-stop and is all over the place. I don't think there is a better little boy on this planet (I'm a little biased..)! He's got a pretty good disposition most of the time and while I thought the terrible two's had hit our house a few days early last week, they seem to have passed just as quickly as they came (I'm probably speaking too soon!).

On Saturday, we had a wonderful Handy Manny Fiesta to celebrate Jackson's birthday. We had a blast with good friends and family watching the kids ride around in the backyard and demolish a pinata. The cake...well, let's just say I am NEVER making his cake again...2 years in a row is more than enough for me. I am no ACE of CAKES! We were so afraid to eat the cake, we bought cupcakes to serve..haha! But I think it turned out pretty good in the end,
for an amateur such as myself.

With Jackson's birthday behind us and mine just a day away, our focus is back on our house and getting it ready to sell. The realtors come next week to check it out and discuss a listing price.
We just can't help ourselves but to do a million things at one time! But it's coming along and I think with the short deadline we gave ourselves, we've pushed harder than we would have to get it done. And boy we can't wait to be DONE!

We've been looking online at some houses but we're not quite ready to look in person until the house is on the market and we have an idea of how long it's going to stay there...I'm nervous and excited at the same time about having to find a new house, start a new role with Progressive, find Brendan a job, find Jackson a new daycare, etc...it's overwhelming! But I know we will get through it. We've done it before! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers and
we'll keep you posted on the move.
